Like many NZ public relations firms, Convergence works with organisations in a pro-bono capacity. One of these long-term clients is Husky Rescue NZ, which rehabilitates and rehomes huskies.
In 2015 the organisation was struggling. They had almost zero income, were not registered as a charity, had no sponsors and no proper facilities. Demand for the service was growing faster than its founder could continue to fund from her own wages and the operation seemed almost certain to flounder.
Convergence stepped in and helped secure sponsors, gain charity status, grow the individual donor base, and find a suitable home. In May, the Public Relations Institute of New Zealand announced the finalists in its annual industry awards and we were thrilled our campaign, Rescuing Husky Rescue, was named as a finalist. Our fingers are crossed for the awards night in July!
