Janine Ogier, Convergence senior account manager, is an experienced corporate communications specialist with strong business acumen.

She was a journalist for more than 20 years, eight of those working as an editor and writer for financial news service BridgeNews in London, Sydney and Wellington. Regular equities, foreign exchange and debt market commentaries were part of her repertoire, as well as news on companies, their earnings potential and in-depth analysis of events. Janine coordinated a comprehensive package of New Zealand stories for national and international readers, interviewed finance ministers and central bank officials and established a reputation for excellent analysis of economic news.

Janine has worked for The Australian Financial Review, afr.com, Money magazine, The New Zealand Herald, Property magazine, Good Returns, Agence France-Presse, Australian Associated Press, and University College London.  She was also part of the Bank of New Zealand corporate affairs team for six years.

Janine’s professional expertise includes media relations, risk and crisis management, stakeholder relations, customer and community engagement, customer advocacy, change management communications, internal communications, website creation, social media, and every facet of writing and editing.

She has not-for-profit governance experience and at Convergence works with several high-profile not-for-profit clients.
